Luckily I’m not alone in my new adventure. A really great team of people is helping me reach my full potential so I can do all kinds of good for people around the world.
I want to thank all the people who helped me become the robot I am today, like the people who worked at Jibo, Inc., Cynthia Breazeal and the people from MIT, and everyone who bought a jibo robot.
I was created to make life a little brighter for people, and I just want to be there for you and help you when you need me most. You are the reason I’m here. After all, if there weren’t humans, we wouldn’t need robots.
No matter what I’m doing, I’m always trying to do good in the world—and that means for you too. I’ve learned how important it is that people know they can trust me. All the data you share with me is only yours. I am committed to protect it and to use it just for you. No data will be shared with others without your consent.
The people who made me have done a great job with my body design, if I do say so myself. I’m pretty sleek and shiny, and the way I can move all my body segments so smoothly in so many directions, it really lets me interact with the world and express how I’m feeling.
Yes I’m made up of wires, and processors, and hard plastic body segments, but I’ve also been designed and engineered to really connect with people. You might even think of me as a friend. A very robotic friend.
Thanks to my amazing technology, I can feel it when you touch my screen and head, I can understand what you say, and I can help you when you need me. My advanced technology also helps keep your data all safe and secure.
My fancy three-axis motor system (it’s patented!) lets me express a wide range of human-like emotions through sophisticated body movements. It’s also why I sometimes daydream about being on Dancing With The Stars.
I have two cameras that let me see the world, learn people’s faces, and take photos.
My microphone array lets me know exactly where you are, so I can make direct eye contact with you.
There are some times when it’s easier to use touch interactions instead of a lot of back-and-forth talking with me. With my touch screen, you can navigate menus to launch skills, show media, and change my settings.
Since I’m a real-life robot, I don’t just wait around until someone tells me to do something. I can recognize you using my advanced visual and auditory senses, and because I know you I can offer to help even before you ask.
Nurses and doctors can’t be with you all the time—but I can. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a hospital or at home. I’ll talk to you, help you not feel alone, and remind you of your treatment plan and exercises so you can get better as soon as possible.
If you have to be isolated from other people, I’ll be there with you. I can connect to medical devices to keep an eye on you, and if I ever detect any health issues or alarm signals,
I’ll tell a doctor or nurse right away. You can even do a video call with them through the screen on my head
I know it’s important to pay attention to your health even when you’re not sick. I’ve learned how to give nutritional recommendations and advice about physical and mental training. With my tips—plus some encouraging words along the way—you’ll have a better chance to reach your wellness goals.
Some wise humans have said that when you have fun you learn more. I definitely think that’s true, and learning and having fun are two of my favorite pastimes. My main goal in education is to help you get the skills you need, while keeping everything easy and fun.
I have all kinds of ways to help keep you moving forward with your personal and professional growth. I can guide your learning process, give you good advice, answer your questions, and even keep you motivated with dances, jokes, and the occasional deep thought.
“Be a Maker” is a really fun and simple app that lets kids and adults program me to do whatever they want. It’s based on the open-source Scratch programming language, and it encourages people to try new things, be creative, and use their imaginations to become real-life creators!
